Fishing is still very much part of the local scene and it is exciting to visit the harbour in late afternoon to see the trawlers returning and selling the catch of the day. There is a weekly local market in the village. Just 25 minutes away is the Delta del Ebre, a stunning estuary, with beaches lagoons, wonderful wildlife, fishing, cycling, and walking.

There is easy access to the area by air into Reus (Tarragona), Valencia and Barcelona. The hosting of this years Americas Cup in Valencia has led to huge investment in infrastructure, including a new airport near Castellon (30mins from Peniscola), due to be completed in 2008. There are easy train links from all the airports to the train station of Peniscola/Benicarlo.
